Below you’ll find answers to the questions we most frequently receive. If you have a question that’s not listed here, please contact us by e-mail, or call us directly at (214) 869-0364, and we’ll be happy to answer it.
What should I bring for the sail?
Spring times are pleasant and cool and usually windy, so bring a jacket. Summer times are HOT, so wear light clothing. Summer time wear a swimsuit or bring one along for swimming if our wind dies. There is plenty of privacy for changing. Wear non marking shoes or sandals if you have them-- its easier on the boat and the Captain. Shoes are not required, but there are lots of things to stub your feet on. A hat is always nice, and don’t forget your sunscreen! We always have plenty on board, but you may have your own preference.
You can also bring a camera, as well as any music you may want to listen to, bring your IPOD/IPHONE and plug it in to the stereo system. Foxy Roxy’s Skipper has an IPHONE full of different types of music, but he doesn’t have hip hop or rap.
Do you provide food and drinks for your Morning/Afternoon Sails?
For two-three hour day sails, food is not provided unless requested. We do provide complimentary, sodas, and mixers for margaritas, pina coladas, etc. If you are wanting us to provide these mixers, let us know so that we bring them along (only so much storage). We will be sure to have lots of ice on board. Accommodations for food can be made, but the restaurant fare is already nice. We would rather spend time sailing than cooking.
Do you offer Dinner Cruises?
We get a lot of requests for Dinner Cruises. The truth is that sailing doesn’t lend itself to cooking and dining. If its blowing like we like it, then cooking is out of the question and dining is a chore. We suggest one of the nice restaurants on either side of the lake.
If the water depth is good, we may be able to pick you up at one of these sites. A nice sail and a dinner? You bet!! Go to The Lake page for some of our favorite places.
Can I bring my own alcoholic beverages for the sail?
YES! We want you to have fun and if you want to have a few “sundowners”, that’s fine with us. We will have plenty of ice aboard for your convenience.
What are your safety guidelines?
We love to have fun, and your safety is our main concern. Foxy Roxy carries all USCG required safety equipment and adheres to a zero tolerance drug policy. Any drugs, disorderly conduct or irresponsible drinking will result in the immediate cancellation of the rest of the charter with no refund for the disorderly party.
Will bad weather/no wind/high wind cancel our sail?
If you walk outside on the day of the charter and the wind is blowing hard, smile….you’re gonna have a great sail! Lake Ray Hubbard has strong wind a lot of the time, but we have lighter breezes during the summer. Still, too much wind rarely cancels a sail, and no wind never cancels one. Whether there’s a strong wind or a light breeze, we will still show you a good time.
All sails are subject to weather conditions, and if the captain doesn’t feel comfortable about the wind or weather, you probably won’t either. If your sail is canceled due to inclement weather, we will be happy to reschedule for a later time or refund your money.
